Printmaking is like marriage. It takes time to get to know your partner.
I spent the day printing yesterday. By the end of the day I had gotten to know my plate pretty well and how that plate wanted to be printed.
Not all printmakers print the same plate the same way. By the time I knew enough about how the plate wanted to be printed, it was time to come in for supper.
O well. That’s life.
